Understood as a delivery vehicle for change, Agile integrates well with other practices that support innovation (e.g., Design Thinking, Lean Startup and DevOps). At its heart is the appreciation that innovation is a process that applies to new, existing and unarticulated needs by stimulating change in value or satisfaction that is obtained from products and services as perceived by the customer. Innovation necessarily involves creativity and flexibility not only on the part of individuals but also from the wider organisation. In this context Agile enables innovation by matching the learning that occurs with corresponding development and delivery mechanisms. Achieving success in bringing the results of innovation management to the customer therefore requires the holistic and adaptive attitude that Agile management offers.
